Blog time!!

Hey Everyone!  Sorry I haven't been blogging in a while but I have been busy helping people get ready for fights and trying to get my own fights lined up! Just got two new managers looking for fights for me.

For boxing I have Samuel Peter's manager Ivaylo Gotzev. Samuel Peters fought Wladamir Klitchco, James Toney, and alot of other big boxing names in the Heavyweight division.  Hopefully he can get things going for me in professional boxing.  Also, for MMA I have Bryan Hamper who manages a lot of UFC and WEC fighters like Donald Cerrone  and a few other guys! So hopefully soon I will get things rolling!

It's all about who you have got looking for fights over here so it's crazy! Being a typical Kiwi/Maori I am ready to go anytime, anywhere, and against anyone. Hopefully with these managers I will get some good fights soon!!

Ok to the gym! Been helping Randy Couture get ready for his fight with James Toney which will be on UFC 118 in Boston.  Trainings is going awesome.  Randy’s sparring partners are three Kiwi's and no one els.  There's Ray Sefo, Doug Viney and Myself. Trainings going awesome and Randy's going to completely smash James and it's going to be AWESOME!! Shut his big mouth up!!

Ray’s been training Randy for this fight. Ray’s also helping Gray Maynard get ready for Kenny Florian and Gray is looking good! LOOK OUT KENNY!

Doug Viney and Jordan Tai are doing their training camps here in Vegas.  They both have fights early September in Australia. Doug’s fighting Peter Graham for the ISKA Heavyweight world title.  Since Doug was injured for the K1 Oceania due to torn muscles in his rib area he wants to fight Ben Edwards after the fight with Graham!

I’m not sure who Jordan's fighting but it's Jordan's first fight back in two years!! Jordan also fought in the K1 Max in Japan.  For those who don't know, Jordy is the MAN! Jordan's training with all the lightweights helping them get ready over here.  He's sparring with Gray Maynard, Evan Dunham and John Gunderson helping them out.  They are also trying to help Jordy out but all they wanna do is take him down!!

I have also been helping Erin Toughill get ready holding pads for her and sparring.  She's been having ALOT of trouble getting fights but she’s fighting in September in Singapore. Then after that she is next in line to fight the Cyborg for the Strikeforce Female world title!!

My weight loss program is going awesome and my next MMA fight will certainly be at heavyweight!! I figured if Mark Hunt can get to 265 then I can do it for sure!!

Anyone else shocked from the Griffin vesus Gomi fight? I know i was!! Good for Gomi gutted for T! Gomi was one of my favorite Pride fighters and I am glad the Fireball Kid is back in the winning circle but gutted it had to be against a good friend of mine!!

Last, I hope you watched the UFC 117 countdown and got a glimpse of me training with Randy when Randy was talking about the Sonnen versus Silva fight.   And if you watch the 118 countdown you'll see me for sure on that one!!

BRICE BLOG - News from Vegas

Tuesday, July 12 2010

So! Brice sends me a message to let me know that nothing much is going on in Las Vegas.

Bear in mind that although he says nothing much is happening he's also be training with the most recognizable fighter in the world, getting his weight down to UFC levels after a meeting with Dana White (yes - Dana White) and getting the inside scoop on BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar for UFC 118.

In other words, what might be 'nothing much' to some people is also 'living the dream' to others!

Coconuts … crap!

Hey Guys,

Not much going on here. Sorry for no updates.  I have just been dying because of my diet. The weight is coming off and I’m planning on being 265 pounds by the start or middle of August.  Then I’ll be able to get more fights and actually have some info for you guys!

Been staying busy helping Randy (Couture) out with his fight with James Toney, the Professional Boxer, so that’s been fun!  All I’ve been doing is boxing and Takedown-Defense and it's awesome!  I will be on the UFC Countdown show because they were filming when we were sparring so hopefully I get in there!

Randy’s fighting James Toney at UFC 118 on the same card B.J. Penn fights Frankie Edgar in the rematch.

My weights is at 289lbs after sitting at 320-330 for the past 2 years.

My diet works for me and I lose the weight but it's hard. But my heads in the right spot!  Training on a diet SUCKS, but the weight stays off.  So, I just have to stick it out until I get down to the weight I need to be at!

I am on the Paleo Diet without eating fruit and eating more eggs.  So basically I eat meat and veges but nothing processed.  No soda, sugar, wheat, grains, one large salad with any meat I want a day, and a lot of raw vegetables. For snacks I get dry coconut and a handful of almonds.  And Green tea!

Not sure how many calories that is but in two weeks I lost 20lbs!

With training I’m still doing two sessions each day. Either boxing or wrestling in the morning, and jogging with light weight training at night. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for sparring and Fridays are for BJJ.

I'll keep you post on how it goes. Watch for me on the UFC Countdown show!
